To GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X7390 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/LG23. 8. 28. NEXT 10,000 MILES TEST - 20 HP. & 40/50 HP. X7410 X5410 Will you please make a point of ascertaining the max. deflection which occurs on the buffers during each days' run in France both on the 20 HP. and 40/50 HP. The reason for this is that we are trying to get the wing arch clearance down to the minimum on both cars and therefore would like to know the average maximum bump position of the axle we have to cater for and also extreme conditions. We know that you got a figure for us on 15-EX on which you proved that the axle practically reached the frame but this was rather an exceptional case as the car was driven at very high speeds.
