Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} Order No: AB 64 Customer's No: 1 Goshawk Dynamo with 20 SWG Field The laboratory experimental dynamo has been rewound on the field with 20 gauge wire in place of the standard 19 SWG, with a view to reducing the exciting current & increasing the output at high speeds. The slots in the control-brush carrier were lengthened & the brush given extra retard, so that the maximum output cold (18°C) was just over 14 amps. This occurred at about 1600rpm.
