In a note from 'Hr' of the 7th July, he told us you were of the opinion that it would be quite O.K. for us to adopt the Dunlop Foot Pump as standard. We therefore gave instructions accordingly, but on obtaining one for use here, our Technical people - including J.L.E. and Bk.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager} expressed the opinion that it is a very "poor thing" and not to be compared with the Nesthill Pump which we are at present supplying. The different complaints about it, are, that it takes 13 minutes to pump up a tyre with it, - it takes 700 strokes to pump up a tyre, - it is light and wobbles about whilst it is being used and our people seem very frightened of adopting it as standard. Would you please give this matter your consideration and let me know what you suggest, as instructions here are, that we must not adopt any article of this description, unless it is approved by 'W', and whilst we are loathe to refer anything back which has been approved, we think it only right to let you have these criticisms before it is too late.
