9th October, 1923.

Messrs. Rolls-Royce of America, Inc.,
Springfield,
Mass., U.S.A.

Dear Sirs,

AMERICAN ALTERATIONS.

On the 5th September (BJ17/H5.9.23) we forwarded to you a copy of H2/M31.8.23. giving particulars of certain items which had been agreed by Mr. Royce. We mentioned in that letter that the standardisation sheets referred to therein would be forwarded to you later.

We now enclose herewith standardisation sheets referred to therein, namely,

No. 18. Alteration No. 4019/A.{Mr Adams}
No. 19. Alteration No. 4020/A.{Mr Adams}
No. 20. Alteration No. 4021/A.{Mr Adams}
No. 21. Alteration No. 3988/A.{Mr Adams}

As mentioned in our letter of the 5th October, (BJ1/H5.10.23) certain alterations, although agreed by Mr. Royce, have to be tested at Derby before the Derby standardisation sheets can be prepared and passed by the usual officials, and it is of course understood that none of the alterations will be finally passed as suitable for production until this has been arranged.

Derby are now engaged in preparing a statement showing which of the alterations will require further tests at Derby before they can be standardised, and this list will be sent to you as soon as it is completed.

Yours faithfully,
For ROLLS-ROYCE, LIMITED,

General Manager.
