Messrs. Thomson & Taylor,
Automobile Engineers,
Brooklands Track,
Weybridge.

Dear Mr. Taylor,

Thank you very much for sending the telegram about the Alfa Crankshaft.

I must apologise for being out when my telephone call to you came through. It took over half an hour. Just at the moment it is impossible for me to get to Brooklands. It was for that reason that I wondered whether you would now send us an arrangement sketch of the assembly, now that you are able to see how it is built up and how the damper works.

We will of course pay any expenses incurred. We do not want Mr. Cobb to be put to any expense whatever for us to get information about his crankshaft.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
