There are a number of improved parts which we recommend should be incorporated in the Phantom production as soon as possible. We therefore propose fitting up a car with these new parts for a 10,000 miles test, we also shall fit these parts to 18-EX car which will be used at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence this winter.
The list of parts are as follows :-
(1) Larger diameter crankshaft, connecting rods to suit.
(2) Improved low inertai slipper wheel.
(3) Radiator with automatic shutters.
(4) Extra oiling for starting.
(5) Improved clutch.
(6) Exhaust heat to carburetter.
(7) New exhaust system.
(8) 20' wheels, 7" diameter tyres.
(9) Staybright and chromium finish.
We have designs for the above parts, and there should be no difficulty in getting these fitted.
There are however, a number of other parts which at present we have no new designs for but which we recommend should be improved.
(10) Spare wheel carrier and Luggage grid.
It would appear that the majority of cars will have one wheel at the back and luggage grid, and one wheel at the side.
