RE JACK FOR PHANTOM CHASSIS.

Some six weeks or two months ago, Colonel Matthew came over to submit to this Company an improved jack for the Phantom chassis.

We could not agree that the jack in question was a good one, and was likely to meet our requirements, but submitted to him, as an alternative scheme, the type of jack supplied by the Michelin Company for the 20 HP. chassis.

Colonel Matthew informed us that they would do their best to produce a jack along similar lines to the Michelin, to meet our requirements, as it appeared to be a reasonable proposal that we should buy our jacks from the Company who supply tyres.

Would you kindly take this matter up with the Dunlop Company, as it is getting a very urgent matter in view of the imminence of the 33 x 6.75 tyre being adopted on the Phantom chassis.

If and when this occurs, it would appear that we shall not have a jack capable of fitting and removing the tyres from the car in question.

It would be desirable that we should approach the Michelin Company again on the matter, as at the time they supplied the 20 HP. jack we made enquiries for the 40/50. They said it would be some months before they were in a position to produce same. Possibly they are now in a position to supply a jack suitable for our requirements.
