S/W (Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) from H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Copy to Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} H2/H27.11.33. Complaint case. Dr. Joll. 16-MY. We understand that the adjustment made at W. to this car was only temporarily effective and that the driver, having a recurrence of the trouble on the way to London, very properly took the car back. C. has asked me to write to you because this owner has a most unfortunate impression of the car as N. have on several occasions done their best to attain a Rolls-Royce quietness of engine only to find, as indeed, you have found, that the first considerable run is enough to cause a recurrence of the noise. C. is hopeful that with Dr. Joll's car, the Experimental Department will be able to devise some modification which will not only cure 16-MY, but be available in those other cases where customers are complaining of similar excess engine noise. Amongst these are The Hon. Chas. Winn - 73-MW, and Taylor - 22-PY. We hear from a telephone message from Sam Harris 8-MY, in which a new engine was fitted at W. that he says that all the old noise and unpleasantness is returning on the new engine. H.{Arthur M.
