Gear box fitted to left hand chassis:- We have rather a bad oil leak from the bracket attached on the gear box for the hand brake lever. There does not appear to be sufficient bolts holding this flange in position. The leak is coming from the underside. Can the design of this please be investigated for an improvement to be made? We have also a slight oil leak from the rear bearing of the gear box. We have, as previously reported, stopped up the air vent holes at the bottom of the change speed tower, which has obviated the oil leak we had during our run over here. A definite breather to the gear box has been made through the filler plug. We observe that a very slight amount of oil escapes through the hole we have drilled. We should recommend that a shield be fitted to prevent this, keeping this as a ventilator, as we find a considerable pressure is built up in the gear box whilst running.

Re front shock dampers - We find that a considerable amount of air pressure is made in the front shock dampers whilst running. This may be due to the hot weather, but upon releasing the filler cap to check the oil level, a considerable amount of oil was blown out with a considerable pop made by the compressed air being released. We have not previously noticed this feature.

Oil cleaner:- We are getting an oil leak from the gland of the centre spindle of the oil cleaner.

We should be pleased if attention can be made to the above features.
