To Ry from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c.c to BY/NHW. X1588 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn{Mr Robinson}/LG2.10.26. HYDRAULIC SHOCK DAMPERS. X235 As a result of further experience with hydraulic shock dampers, we now recommend that customers are advised not to touch these dampers unless their loading materially alters or they show by excessive oil leaks or audible squeaks, that they are obviously not functioning satisfactorily. In this case the driver should refill the damper by means of the plug provided, taking great care not to allow any grit to get into the oil. The thin oil should be used for this - such as - Mobiloil 'E', or the thinest Shell oil. It is of the utmost importance that the oil should be perfectly clean before insertion in the shock damper, (we do not expect the dampers to require any replenishment for 10,000 miles), and it is recommended that the case of the shock damper should be cleaned before any attempt is made to remove the filling plug as any foreign matter entering the shock damper is liable to impair its working ability.
