- sheet 2 - E.2/HP.16.9.35. ---------------- between cylinder bores which increases the length of the engine approximately 3". (6) E/Tsn. will also make a design investigation into a four valve 2 camshaft head, with one or two central sparking plugs and will try out a scheme for machining a head on this type of cylinder by turning it spherical and machining recesses for the valve heads. With the latter the head should be arranged as a shallow Pent-House with side plugs so as to be suitable for integral cylinder head and block construction, all in cast iron, the valves being withdraw-able through the cylinder bore. (7) Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} will make a test of the steel Pent-House and steep aluminium Pent-house aero engine heads for detonation at low speed. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
