20 HP. LOW STRESS VALVE SPRING.

We send herewith LeC.2440 shewing the above.
This should be instructed for experimental test with a view to standardisation.

We are not we understand experiencing much trouble with 20 HP. valve springs on production, but this new spring has a better figure of merit than those at present in use, and should therefore have a larger margin of safety.

At the same time we send you LeC.2443 shewing a comparison chart for valve spring stresses based on a simple formula.

We should be glad if you would send us three blueprints of this chart for use in the office, and for filing.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
