To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} X634 X4604 98 GOSHAWK 11. X.4220 E2/M5.6.23 X.634 Referring to the 3000 r.p.m. vibration, Mr. Royce is not satisfied that the test for proving that this is not due to the crankcase was sufficiently conclusive owing to the fact that Goshawk 1. is said to behave differently at this speed. He would therefore like you to make another test, bolting steel plates 8" wide, and say 5/16" thick, between the top and bottom halves on each side of the Goshawk 11. Crankcase.
