THE
A.C. SPHINX SPARKING PLUG COMPANY LIMTD.,

BRADFORD STREET,

BIRMINGHAM.

HC/DIN.

June 14th 1928.

A.{Mr Adams} J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Rowledge, Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Mr. Rowledge,

We have now been able to carefully examine the Plugs No. 114-Q which you returned to us after testing on one of your 7 : 1 compression F.11 engines.

From examination, it is evident that they are very nearly satisfactory, but performance would be improved if they were able to stand a little more heat.

We always endeavour to supply a plug which will only just stand sufficient heat, and then the temperature at which it operates will reduce as far as possible the tendency to oil up.

We sent you on the 12th inst., 13 Plugs type 105-T., marked for your attention, and shall be glad to have your comments on these when you have had an opportunity of testing them out. These plugs will stand appreciably more heat than the 114-Q which you have had, and at the same time should have a sufficient margin of safety as regards oiling up.

When you have any information as regards the Petrol Pump, we shall be very pleased to have it.

Yours sincerely,

(Signed) H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Cousins.
