[Handwritten: x4257] We send herewith a print of "N" Scheme 809 showing the brake gear hub and wheel modified in accordance with E2/08-3-21. We have shewn the disc wheel on 809, and on "N" Scheme 810 we shew the Dunlop wire wheel, also modified in accordance with E2/08-3-21. We have kept the brake drum in the position suitable for the wire wheels, as this appears to also suit the disc wheels, and the only change needed from disc to wire is a new permanent hub. On "N" Scheme 810, we shew the alternative (c) of paragraph 1 of E2/08-3-21 for the distance piece between the ball bearings, and on 810 we shew alternatives (a) and (b). On 809, the inner die cast oil guard owing to its reduced diameter, and the presence of the nut for the inner ball bearing but locking piece, has gone back to its original form, though Mr Royce wished it altered on our previous wire wheel scheme. On N Scheme 810 we have reduced the diameter of the hub a little as well as its thickness, as there seemed to be some waste before. There is no fixed Dunlop standard as yet.
