The examination of the clutch after 4,000 miles' test in London traffic:- (1) The fabrics had worn .020". (2) Pressure plate had dished outwards .005. (3) The fabric in contact with the pressure plate had picked up fine threads of metal. (4) The operating fingers of this clutch had not been modified where they came in contact with the adjusting screws, i.e., the angle of contact was too abrupt.
