RE TUNGSTEN POINTS

X.2894
X.1818

Attached are two tungsten ignition points which we obtained from the Delco Company, some time ago, for experimental purposes. We have recently submitted a pair of such points to Messrs. Johnson Matthey for them to tell us the exact material of the points, and they state that this is metallic tungsten.

Would you kindly have these points fitted, one to a screw and one to a blade of our chassis battery ignition, so that we may run these on our bench apparatus in order to see if there is any distinct advantage in this material over the usual platinum.

You will remember we obtained some metallic tungsten some time back for this same purpose, but you said it could not be worked sufficiently well to make up into points.

We are handing you together with these, a bar of this material as we thought perhaps you might like to make some comparison and be able to tell us if there is any difference in the hardness etc.

EFC.
