BY1/P141118. X. 3129 X. 3374. POST WAR CHASSIS. BATTERY IGNITION. In view of the fact that we shall be using an Electrical Starter on the car for the Post-War chassis, the battery used for ignition purposes only will not now be required, as we shall take the ignition from the starting battery. There is one other point, namely, that Mr. Royce is anxious to use a non trembler coil. We should not, therefore, at the moment, order up the parts for the pre-war coil. Will Mr. Clark kindly make arrangements, in conjunction with Mr. Ormerod, to instruct up the non-trembler coil to be used on the Post-War chassis. It should, of course, in the first place be instructed up experimentally, but as the matter is very urgent, preference should be given to this particular experiment. I wish to confirm that Mr. Ormerod is ordering up two batteries from Peto & Radford and also Messrs. Vandervells, in addition to two batteries from Lucas. The batteries in question to be suitable for starting motor service on the chassis. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
