Dear Tom,

Mr. H.Wood, who is in charge of our Research Design work, mentioned your name to me today in connection with petrol filters.

I told him that, in addition to fuel filters, you were supplying us and a large number of other people in the transport world, with by-pass oil filters and incidentally, that I thought that the size which you were at present supplying to Leylands and Meadows for their 12-cylinder tank engines, would be very suitable for a power plant on which he is at present working.

On the other hand, if he did not agree with by-pass filtration, you had a full-flow filter which, in my opinion, was definitely superior to the Vokes, the type which is being used on other aviation engines.

Furthermore, that though you were personally in favour of by-pass filtration, you had studied every type and were working in close collaboration with oil companies and Helmore.

If you could make a date with Mr. Wood on your return from your holiday I am sure it would be to your mutual advantage.
