Test report on a 40/50 HP chassis regarding oil leaking from the front pivots onto the front wheel brakes.

During a recent test of about 250 miles with a new chassis on test, 43-TC, Mr. Wyer, reports as follows:- "After running 20 miles the front wheel brakes began to get less effective and continued to get worse during the day, due to the oil leaking from the pivots, and running on to the brake shoes and drums. Perhaps too much oil had been forced into the pivots when in the shop, but with the heat of the day it ran freely all round, stub axle etc. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
