Car 7-CA (2)

R1/G13.3.19.

suggest that we fit on the inside of the radiator, next to the fan, a complete piece of ply the full size of the radiator with a round hole in the centre the size of the fan.

I believe this part can be always on, in addition to this, we can stop off a third of the height on the outside, which can be varied according to the weather, the inside remaining on unless the car is used in exceptionally hot countries, such as Spain and India, or the tropical temperatures of the Central United States in the summer.

X.2873 You will remember that 7-CA. has an extra water jacket on the induction pipe, which you put on in your endeavours to get better results from this particular engine. I should like you to carefully compare a car with this jacket with one without a jacket, and if you think it is an advantage, it should be fitted to the standard production cars which are coming round.

The running of 7-CA was so remarkably good that I think this particular jacket may have some bearing on the subject. At the same time, it would be very unwise to fit it unless it shewed a definite advantage.
