x704 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/HP.8.12.33. c.c. Mr. [REDACTED] GRY{Shadwell Grylls} 'Vulture' Brakes. Herewith is N. Sch.3897 Diagram of the brake leverages on Vulture. Also N. Sch.3901, full scale layout of the servo gear and linkage. These provide, as arranged, for 4 brakes direct operated and use the Bentley servo recently rearranged for that object. We have had to modify the balance lever, partly to line up between front and rear differentials, which are not in the same line as Bentley, and partly to provide for the increased load. The levers however are cut from sheet, and the centre hub turned from Bar. We expect the servo cams to be altered to give an output of 3.5 or more. N. Sch. 3901 slightly modifies N. Sch.3897, in respect to the pedal and the counter shaft. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
