Re Minutes of Conference at Derby re Car Work on June 9th --- Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}1/R12.6.33.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and I have preliminarily gone through the various items in these Minutes, and certainly there is much food for thought.

There is one point in particular at the moment, which it would be of interest to have a technical opinion upon, viz: as to why the Technical Officials think we can do without a magneto on future cars.

With cars at our prices, customers expect more than they would on cheaper cars, and we remember well how Public Opinion forced us very quickly to fit a magneto when we had launched the original 20 h.p. without one.

We understand of course, that from a technical point of view there are many advantages in the battery ignition, but are we confident that customers are not likely to have ignition troubles which might cause a serious stoppage on the road?

We shall be interested to have your views on this matter generally.
