Dear Mr. Royce,

I have your letter of the 3rd inst., together with sketches of the piston for the brake magnet and I am now proceeding with the final arrangements.

I thank you for your remarks in regard to the Great Western Railway, and the cranes which we are offering are strictly in accordance with their specification, and I am afraid that it is only the personal touch in this case which is likely to influence matters.

The cranes in question would be fitted with a mechanical lowering brake in accordance with the official specification.

I shall also be in London on Thursday next, 8th inst., on other business, and if you happen to be in London I should like to see you for a short time at our London Office. I shall be in touch with our London Office any time after 11.30a.m.

We are,

Yours faithfully,

P.S. Since writing the above I have been notified of a Board Meeting at 3pm on Tuesday

B/ES.
