Dear Sirs,

I beg to confirm the following telegram despatched to you this morning in reply to your letter of the 3rd inst:

"Your letter reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA just received. Postponing todays visit. Writing. Robinson."

Very many thanks for the letter informing me of your pressing engagements. I was just about to start for Derby when it arrived.

I am afraid I cannot manage to come on Thursday the 8th inst., as I have an appointment in London on that day to demonstrate another invention to Messrs. Smith & Sons of Cricklewood, the Motor Accessory Manufacturers.
