STANDARDISATION SHEETS. 8.10.37.

18.8.37. Wheel Drivers. BENTLEY.

Issued 18.8.37.
Sent to Rb.{R. Bowen}27.5.37.
Signed by Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 7.10.37.

These drivers can be brought in on the first car on "M"
without scrap. The tool cost is £240. Unfortunately
these wheel drivers do not correspond to any other
driver, but we are proposing to fit to a car, and, in
addition will be superseded by the Girling rear axle,
which it is proposed to bring in at the 1st chassis in
'M'. If, therefore, this modification is brought in
at the beginning of 'M' Series, the tool cost will
amount to £240, which appears to be expensive. We,
therefore, recommend that this should be held over
until we get a new type of

23.6.37. Cylinder Block made in Chromidium. BENTLEY & 25/30.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} refused to sign either of these sheets, so did Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}
The sheet was circulated with the object of regularising
the change from 270 to 200 brinell in cylinder block
material. It is quite immaterial to us whether anybody
signs the sheet or not, the fact remains that the
cylinder block in question has successfully completed
15,000 miles.

13.9.37. Wraith Type front suspension levers. P.III.

Held up by RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} The tool cost for this job is £720,
a good deal of which has been spent in making experi-
mental pieces, and it can be brought in on 'E' Series
without scrap. In our opinion this improvement is long
overdue. Two years hence is really too long to wait
for this.

24.9.37. Large Diff. Thrust Washers. P.III.

Held up by RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} As this is already on production com-
pletion of the standardisation sheet is immaterial.

25.8.37. Flexible engine Coupling. P.III.

This modification is really a help to production as it
minimises a certain amount of misalignment between the
engine and the gearbox. The sheet is being held up
by RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} If completed it could be brought in at the 1st
chassis of 'E' Series without scrap. It is immaterial
