This trouble on Ph.II is caused by the sliding joint not working properly and is cured by modifying the sliding joint and fitting an additional stay to the rear silencer as per Depot Sheets Nos. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}199 and Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} 218.

20/25 HP. Synchromesh cars. Cam balancing device now standardised on new cars and design for existing cars is available to overcome gear rattles. This is not a complete cure.
40/50 HP. Mainly knock from cam shaft and is cured by reducing end play.
