Engineer} c.c. to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. c.c. to CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} for Blk. re Non elevating Mounting. 40 m.m. type BD.{Mr Berend} Gun. This afternoon Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}, took away QPL.127 shewing modifications to QPL.124 (2 sheets) the non-elevating mounting for the type BD.{Mr Berend} gun and also QPL.126 shewing the general arrgt. of the gun with crew. He was asked to leave the originals with Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. On QPL.127 we shew modifications to QPL.124 which are as follows :- 1. Rotational Parking hook. 2. 2.500 in. width of base flange. 3. Modified trunnion bracket to carry ammunition tray. 4. Lubrication to the ball bearings. 5. Heel stops for the gunner. No details need be made by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. as all this work will be undertaken by the L.M. & S. Railway Co.Ltd., to whom Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} is delivering the print of this scheme. On QPL.126 we shew the gun crew in action under the two extremes of elevation.
