Reply to be addressed to John Marston Limited for the attention of AWD/BR/2 [Handwritten top center: R80.] [Handwritten top right: holia Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /5777] 17th August 1937 Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY. For the attention of Mr. Steadman. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of the 14th inst. following our telephonic conversation yesterday, we give below our comments on the various points raised. 1. The repair of Oil Coolers which have leaked either in service or under your routine check pressure test by redipping seems feasible, but as discussed on the telephone this should be experimented with. It has been arranged that you will let us have, if possible, a cooler which has been dipped in order that we can try out this method. At the same time we ourselves will investigate this suggestion. 2. We are using 45% B.S.S. Grade "B" Solder in the manufacture of the Oil Coolers. 3. The sample Bentley radiator which you saw while you were here, and which is to be sent to you shortly, has a Mark VI Matrix of .006" and .004" all tinned construction. | ||
