To Hv. from EFC. X-1109 EFC1/AT19.11.20. X.1109.-TRANSFORMER FOR INSULATION TESTING. X.1581. Previous to our note EFC2/T261020 we had had submitted to us copies of letters as follows:- 1. From Metropolitan Vickers Elect. Co., who were unable to offer us anything. 2. From The B.T.H. Co., ditto. 3. British Electrical Transformer Co., who submitted a quotation for a 3-K.V.A. Transformer which was larger than we required. 4. Foster Engineering Co., who quoted a suitable 1-K.V.A. Transformer for £32. Deeming this not sufficient in the matter of enquiry we looked up further adresses and since our note referred to above adressed to you, we have had submitted to us quotations from:- 5. Mackie & Co., who could not offer us anything. 6. Bowdey & Co., who offered a 1-K.V.A. Transformer at £40. 7. Mitchell & Co., with whom the matter is still apparently under consideration as they stated that a quotation and specification would be forwarded in a day or two. 8967/frg.11.20 We have suggested in our note to try Messrs. Watson & Sons and the answer from this firm was submitted to us asking for further particulars, which we gave in our EFC1/AT171120. This is how the matter stands and we are waiting the complete set of quotations before coming to a decision as to what transformer we consider would be most suitable for our purpose. (Contd). | ||
