For the attention of F.Attwater, Esq.

Dear Sirs,

We at present have no form of specification for the timing gear blanks to our EB.3955/6, EW.1729 and EW.1880 which you make for us.

We wish to be able to add to our drawings of these gears a specification on the following lines:-

(1) Load gear must withstand after hot oil treatment and as received from you.

(2) Nature of oil treatment to which you subject the blanks including time and temperature.

(3) The way in which the blank is built up from cloth blanks and cuttings.

(4) Minimum no. of layers of cotton cloth per inch after moulding.

(5) Nature of weave of cloth and minimum no. of ends and picks per inch.
