1373 To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/ET.17.12.40. ENDURANCE TEST ON B.60 UNIT. ------------------------- Confirming our conversation of the other day, we want to run an endurance test on a B.60 engine when we have sufficient modified pieces available to make the test worth while. Some of the pieces mentioned were lighter pistons, tri-metal big end bearings, aluminium cam wheel, tin plated piston rings, fully salt cooled exhaust valves, flush top pistons, large diameter tri-metal main bearings, soft crankshaft (if available). Incidentally, with regard to the 3 1/4 bore pistons you have ordered, will you please make sure that the ring tension is adequate since we do not want to run into the same trouble we experienced when we went from the 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 bore.
