664 To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}10/JH.30.9.38. re XA.1. The following modifications have been carried out on Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s. Wraith. (1) Cyl. head removed and valve seats examined. These were O.K. for cracks, valves have been ground in. (2) Uptodate radiator matrix, and filler cap fitted. (3) More flexible dynamo rubber fitted. (4) 2 R.R. ignition coils fitted. (5) Engine oil changed and new filter unit fitted. (6) New cover to gear lever shaft. (7) Inspection lamp wired up clear of master switch. ............ The driver reported a rattle at the front of the car when the car was delivered. This has proved to be timing gear rattle. As there was insufficient time to put this right, parts will be prepared, and the matter attended to when the car is next at the Works. This car is fitted with the original timing gear material and has not the modification to reduce gear wear. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} | ||
