WRAITH III. CYLINDER HEAD COOLING.

Please receive herewith

E.CD.923 Modified Cooling of Cylinder Head - Wraith lll.

This design is intended as an experiment for the investigation of the effects of directing jets of water more directly to the positions in cylinder head where cracks have recently developed in the exhaust valve seats. Four jets EE.3326 have been added on the sparking plug side of head, and in order to ensure water flow through the jets the water holes immediately below the sparking plugs should be plugged up in the cylinder block and only opened out again if found necessary after running engine, the water holes under exhaust ports on tappet side are unaltered.

We have given the necessary particulars on the design drawing for these alterations so that EPS. can work direct from E.CD.923, and so avoid the necessity of special detail drawings for the experiment.

Holes for the jets should also be punched in the Klingerite gasket.
