To Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} from EFC. c. BP. c. EY/HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} 74118 EFC1/T6.3.25. X.3651. WATFORD R.O.1. MAGNETO No. 75333 EX CHASSIS 60-H-5. MISS WHITLEY THOMSON. Tests on this magneto are completed both on the bench and on the chassis, and we do not find anything whatever wrong with it. It is easily capable of passing on the bench our revised version of the production test, copy of which we attach for your convenience. The magneto has been put through this production test and also has been carefully tried out on an experimental car under bad conditions, but no fault has been reported. We suggest that there may be something in-correct in the timing of the magneto. If it were advanced somewhat further than the production instructions call for, the magneto spark would have a gap to jump in the distributor. In this connection see our EFC2/T11.11.24 addressed to Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler} together with copy of Instructions for the timing of Goshawk ignition distributor & contact breaker in position on the chassis attached thereto. The magneto is returned herewith. With reference to the other magneto for which enquiry is made, this has now been passed to EY/HM{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}, under cover of our EFC3/T3.3.25, copy of which is attached. EFC. | ||
