This car, as you doubtless heard, had to be hurriedly returned to Derby last week-end because a thump had developed which was bad enough to be noticed by a customer on a trial run.

This is the second thing that has happened to the car whilst it has been used for trials.

I understand that the trouble was something to do with a non-standard type of engine mounting.

If this is true, I should like to know why it was not changed when the car was last at Derby.

It seems to me that, coming on top of the exhaust failure, it has been forgotten that I was using this car for the benefit of the Experimental Dept. and to get experience under normal conditions of use of the production car so that this object was lost if the car was not kept up to production standard.

At the date when the car was last at Derby, I think I am correct in saying that there was no great urge for production chassis to be sent away from Derby because in any case there was a hold-up about cylinder heads.

will you deal with this for me By
