C. 6TH EDITION BENTLEYS Messrs. Rolls Royce Motors Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. W. ARTHUR. ROBOTHAM. The writer would thank you for the courtesy extended to him at his interview with you yesterday and would confirm that we shall be writing you dealing with the various points discussed. We have this morning received piston drawing as promised and are passing this to our design department. We would be glad however if you could let us know the distance between bosses on this piston and the position of the piston relative to the cylinder bore when at top and bottom dead centres, that is whether the piston projects at either end and if so how much. Would you also let us know whether the gudgeon pin is fixed or floating in the small end and if the latter whether circlips or end pads are used. Assuring you always of our prompt and careful attention. We are, Yours faithfully, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SPECIALLOID LIMITED. Donald McConnell DISTRICT ENGINEER. (Donald McConnell) | ||
