(102) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG.S/ET. 23rd September, 1940. British Tyre and Rubber Co., BURTON - on - TRENT. Attention of Mr. Birbeck. Dear Sirs, Further to our conversation with you during our visit to your Works last week, we are sending you herewith blue print of a proposed body mounting. You will see that we have arranged this so that it will go into the mould from which you produce engine mounting 47077. We should be glad to know if the packing required to make the mounting, which is .358 thick up to 13/16 should be in one piece, so arranged as to fit over the nut which is welded to one of the plates, or if two strips of metal, which could be placed one on each side of the nut, would be satisfactory. In other words is it necessary for the packing to be 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 and fit closely round the nut, or will two strips of packing be sufficient and satisfactory?. If you would let us have your comments on this we should be much obliged. Yours faithfully, | ||
