We find that Lord Herbert Scott's car is the first car to have the type of shock dampers fitted which can be converted for controllable dampers. The biggest alteration that would be necessary to fit the governor unit is a matter of moving the hand brake mechanism 2" forward. This necessitates removing the body of the car. From P.2. series the hand brake has been moved forward ready for conversion to controllable dampers. The other alterations are, new shock damper valve chambers, pipe lines to the dampers and controls to the column and starter carburetter. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} | ||
