x4094 Exptl. Dept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/PJH.14/KW. 15th February, 1935. The Adamant Engineering Co.Ltd., Dallow Road, Luton. For the attention of Comdr. Matravers. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 12th inst. We are considering standardising your L.7 type Steering Gear on our 25 HP. chassis, and we should like to have a dismantled L.7 gear up here for the purpose of examination and inspection by our Design Dept. We should be very much obliged if you could loan to us an unused L.7 gear for this purpose. The ratio of the cam, length of rockershaft, and arrangement of oil filler need not be the same as on the gears you have already supplied to us. When the writer was at your Works on Friday last you mentioned that the L.7 gear now had the upper cover of the box bolted, instead of screwed, to the box. We should be glad if you would send us a drawing of this modification, and, if possible, loan to us such parts of the gear as are affected by the alteration. The above is very urgent and we hope you will be able to send the parts by return. | ||
