It should be recorded that they were unable to do
anything about armour on this first mounting, as they were
not issued with the drawing until the mounting had been
despatched.

-------------

For record purposes, the LMS have now been handed
the following drawings, which cover the various sections
mentioned :-

QPL.124 }
QPL.127 } Pedestal Mounting.

These they have detailed, and have promised to send
us a complete set of prints. They are compiling an L.O.P.
at our request.

QPL.130 Ammunition tray.

complete with details of this scheme as follows :-

QR.209/10/11/12/13/14/15/16/17/18.

QPL.136 Armouring (For Pedestal mounting)

This they are about to detail, and it will be fitted
to the second mounting.

The above completes the jobs issued to LMS to date,
in connection with this type of mounting.

They have also been issued with :-

QPL.134-5 Armouring (Oerlikon mounting)

complete with details of the support plates QR.151/2/3/4.

They have been asked to produce one set of pieces in
accordance with these drawings. The plate will be .500" mild
steel.

The LMS have had a request direct from the Admiralty
for three further mountings, complete with armouring by the end
of next week. Mr. Ivatt asked about covering orders for these
extra mountings, but we could make no useful suggestion, as this
new move does not fit in with our programme. It is assumed that
either someone has been told off to provide three guns to go with
these mountings, or that no guns are required with them.
