To Dy.{F R Danby} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} [crossed out] c. to J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} c. to EPC. ORIGINAL R2/B6:7:17. 4 X 3123 Re Aluminium Alloys for Pistons. X 3032 With reference to the B.4 alloy, I think this will be a great improvement on the 12% copper alloy. It is in accordance with my repeated suggestions that P. was too brittle. I have instructed the Experimental Department to have pistons of this alloy made and tested. R.{Sir Henry Royce} [STAMP] D 11 JUL 1917 RECEIVED | ||
