| SPECIFICATION OF COACHWORK FOR 11-B-5. Close Coupled Four Door Saloon - Short Wheelbase Bentley. Chassis. B.5. Type Short Wheelbase Bentley chassis, for all drawings of which see appendix. Untarnishable finish. One spare wheel on the off-side, wheels 16 x 6.5 Dunlop wire. Radiator forward of normal position. See PD.276. Body. Body to be constructed in Wood and Aluminium. Based on the original Bentley construction for Wood and Aluminium bodies. This is now justified in view of the immensely increased chassis frame rigidity. Front Wings. Alum. S.W.G.16 as drawn, and without running boards - Front apron to be supplied by coachbuilder. Rear Wings. Alum. S.W.G.16. Carried entirely on the rear wheelarch. Petrol filler in nearside rear wing. Stone Shields. Of latest approved pattern. Doors. To be as thin as possible. Front door hinged on centre pillar, and rear door on rear pillar, by means of external hinges provided with stainless steel pins. Interior door handles to be on lock spindles except that of the driver's door which should have remote control. Quick-lift control to driver's door window. Windows - Lancegaye glass 3/16" thick. Overall locks. Doors to have external rubber seal to prevent wind noises. Screen. Opening screen of Triplex Laminated Glass 3/16" thick with central control, free from flap when open. Reinforced frame and hinges with external rubber seal. Sunshine Roof. Latest pattern, special precautions to be taken to avoid leakage of water, wind noises and rattles.
