+457 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}6/M239.25. 20 HP. STEERING. X.5430 X.457 X.5450 It is desired as soon as possible to get on the big worm to this chassis too. The design is practically ready and will be sent to Derby from WW. in a short while. In the meanwhile the immediate move is to go to the .8 lead worm instructed from here some little while ago. In order to steady the steering and reduce the possibility of low speed wobbles, we wish to make the top roller bearing into a plain bearing of large dia. Instructions will be sent from WW. The springs in the side steering tube should be made stiffer and shorter. We suggest that you should immediately try two springs of the same stiffness as the present stiff one, the joint simply being shortened down to suit. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
