PETROL CONSUMPTION TESTS COMPARISON BETWEEN
STANDARD TOP GEAR AND OVER-DRIVE ON
THE PHANTOM III.

We have checked the petrol consumption of 36-EX using the standard top gear and the over-drive.

The car was driven hard reproducing continental road conditions as near as possible as the average speed will show.

We give below the consumption figures, these are the average in both directions.

a.{Mr Adams} Standard production top gear.

Petrol used - 2 gallons ........ Gravity tank used.

Average speed 67.56 m.p.h.

Consumption ..... 7.47 m.p.g.

b. Using the over-drive gear.

Petrol used 2 galls. ...... Gravity tank used.

Average speed 67.77 M.P.H.

Consumption 8.05 m.p.g.
