[Handwritten] X.3400D [Handwritten] X.3429 E.H. from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} [strikethrough]Copy to CE[/strikethrough] CE E.F.C. Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}7/W13.6.19. As you know I have been corresponding with Mr. Johnson over his objection to sign Standardization Sheet for the Short Connecting Rods, on account of the fact that these rods have not run 10,000 miles. We have reached the stage in which Mr. Johnson will be satisfied if we succeed in completing 10,000 miles or the equivalent before the chassis are actually delivered. We must therefore do all the running we can by road, bench, or dynamometer. Mr. Johnson has not yet agreed to sign the Standardization Sheet, and I am passing it back to Mr. Clarke, so that he may re-submit it when the running has been completed. Bn.{W.O.
