1049 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 18th November, 1938. C. Chayne, Esq., Chief Engineer, Buick Motor Co., Flint, MICHIGAN. U.S.A. Dear Mr. Chayne, We note that on this year's Buick your wheel nuts are right and left-hand thread respectively on either side of the car. This, as far as we can ascertain is the reverse of general American practice, and we also find that the opinion of the English Manufacturer over here is that such procedure is unnecessary. However, we regard Buick practice as second to none, and, therefore, feel there must be some very good reason for this. We should be very much indebted to you if you could give us any information on the subject. Yours Sincerely, | ||
