R.{Sir Henry Royce} R.{Sir Henry Royce} 285A (1000) (FF351. 9.1.13) G 4988 AW/SM24/025213. SHOCK ABSORBERS - Hydraulically checked. X. 235. Mr. Hives. 25/2/13. In reference to the above, the following is an extract of Mr. Royce's memo R12/B14213 :- " The system of oil shock damper in which the rebound is checked hydraulically is, I still think, the best, and nearly 12 months ago I asked that a pair of these should be tested on the rear of the Cars, Renault and others were somewhat similar, but I do not think that they had our special feature of working in one direction only, that is in our idea the wheel should be very free to go over a lump but the axle would be checked from falling into a hole". Will you kindly let me know whether this experiments was carried out and if so, will you report on same, stat-ing whether the experiment was conducted in the special way that Mr. Royce here suggests. ? p. a.{Mr Adams} Wormald. | ||
