Dear Sirs,

Replying to your letter ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/MA of the 28th.inst., there are several small equipments for receiving purposes only, made under mass production conditions by broadcast receiver manufacturers, and our friends, the Marconiphone Co. of Radio House, 210-212, Tottenham Court Road, London, W.1. are themselves working upon one which we believe will be considerably in advance of anything so far available. All receivers of this type, however, are naturally made for broadcast reception only and are quite useless as they stand for reception on any wavelengths outside of the broadcast bands. On the other hand, if broadcast reception is your object, you could not do better than put your problem to the Marconiphone Co.

For purposes other than broadcast reception it is our experience that broadcast receiver manufacturers are unwilling to consider modifying their equipments in small numbers, and in any case such modifications usually lead to prices out of all proportion to the cost of the mass produced standard design. We, however, specialise in the production of receiving equipments and transmitting-receiving equipments for all special purposes and have an organisation which lends itself better than any other to the production in small quantities of equipments to meet the specific requirements of our clients.

We have, for instance, just perfected what is undoubtedly the best possible receiving equipment for use on police cars, and we have also a range of designs of transmitting apparatus for mobile police use and for police headquarters. A descriptive folder is enclosed herewith giving some details of these equipments.

We have also produced very many different equipments for installation on fire engines, in tanks, armoured cars, motor boats, and so on, but our clients' requirements in these fields are almost always of a special nature and standardisation
