9th November 1934. Agenda for Second Coachwork Conference. Minutes of Previous Meeting. Para.10. Cadillac being tested in France. Cadillac hardware. Para.11. Body complaints. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} would like a copy of the synopsis of coachwork complaints. Would it be possible to include rough mileage uptodate or length of period in service. Also report on means of cure adopted for various complaints, as on chassis report. It is suggested that the report could be grouped under 'complaints' similar to our chassis report which has been found a useful method for a number of years. Para.12. Bodywork-hardware. Samples of this have now been secured and consideration of these is in progress. ===================== 1. Treatment of streamline bodies (a) which are in existence, (b) under construction or on order. 2. Recommended scheme for treatment of streamline tails to avoid excessive weight, etc. (a) for existing design of chassis (b) future design with engine moved 3" further forward. 3. Stronger road springs on Bentley for overweight cars which cannot be brought into the guarantee weight. 4. Total weights on 20/25 and P.2. 5. Horizontal louvres in Bentley bonnets. Heat in front seats. 6. Accessibility of certain parts of the chassis with modern coachwork (a) consideration of Br.1/S.25.10.34 (b)modified scheme of coachbuilders drawings to provide illustrations showing these requirements. | ||
